Alaqua Cox revealing why she did not want to hide her prosthetic leg in Echo’s fight scenes said, “I wanted to show people that amputees and people with disabilities can do anything. Although I am deaf and an amputee, I was able to do a lot of my fighting and stunts and it was important to me to show my prosthetic leg and not try to hide it under clothes. Maya Lopez is a badass, and I wanted people with disabilities to have someone that they could look up to and see within themselves.”

6thJanuary 2024: The funds raised from this event would be deployed towards building a Diagnostic Centre for poor and needy at CR Foundation, Kondapur, Hyderabad. The Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan (RCHD), a part of the global network of Rotary International, was chartered in 1988, and has more than 70 members from various vocations. RCHD has a proud tradition of fellowship and friendship, service and contribution to the Rotary Foundation.
The Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan conducts charity events to raise funds to complete many community service projects. This year we have planned a fund raiser Deccan Accelerates for Charity – a Time, Speed and Distance Car Rally. This rally is being conducted from Hyderabad to Hampi in aid of building a Diagnostic Centre for poor and needy at Kondapur, Hyderabad.
There were over 20 cars participating in the rally and this was flagged off on 6th January 2024 from Solitaire Global Schools, Attapur. Speaking on the occasion the president of RCHD Rtn.Anil Ramchandani said, “This is the first time we at RCHD are conducting a Time, Speed and Distance Car Rally. We have had an overwhelming response with nearly 100 participants and our sponsors have been generous to contribute Rs. 40 lakhs from their CSR funds for this cause. We thank them for this gesture and look forward to their support in the years to come.”

A 15-bed Dialysis Centre at Secunderabad, housed in the Secunderabad Gurudwara and run by the Mahavir Charitable Trust, has provides over 10,000 dialysis every year at a cost of a mere Rs. 300 each.
A state of art Blood Bank at a total cost of over Rs. 2 Crores, which has collected over 10000 units of blood used by the needy.
A 3-laser, 11 channel cytometer setup at and run by the Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute (BIACH&RI) for free specialized diagnostic services to children from families below the poverty line (BPL) suffering from Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL)
A charitable Diagnostic Centre and PolyClinic at Gurudwara Medical Centre in Secunderabad which serves over 7000 patients every month free or at very nominal rates
Currently RCHD is working on setting up a charitable Diagnostic Centre and PolyClinic at CR Foundation, Kondapur.

Telugu super news,National, October18th, 2023: India continues to set the benchmarks for the EV industry with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the National Standard Body of India, approving the country’s first ever indigenously developed AC and DC Combined Charging connector standard for light electric vehicles (LEVs), IS17017 (Part 2 / Sec 7): 2023. This is also the world’s first ever combined AC and DC charging connector standard for light electric vehicles and is designed and engineered in India, which can become the benchmark globally for LEVs. This standard paves the way for a common light electric vehicle AC and DC combined charging system that benefits all sections of the EV ecosystem, from owners and vehicle manufacturers to charge point operators.
In a first-of-its kind initiative, NITI Aayog, the Department of Science and Technology, ARAI, EV makers, and the Bureau of Indian Standards came together to develop a national standard. This standard will help create an open ecosystem, which will drive faster EV adoption across the globe. This allows OEMs to move away from relying solely on international standards and protocols and instead implement a charging system that will propel Indian innovation ahead.
This standard addresses a large gap that existed in the market for a standardized connector for an AC and DC combined charging system for light electric vehicles (2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, and microcars). Light electric vehicle charging requirements are unique, as the high cost and large size of a 4W charging connector makes it infeasible to adopt a four-wheeler charging connector. A combined AC and DC charging connector ensures that a hybrid, cost-efficient infrastructure emerges for all forms of charging, whether fast or slow, for light electric vehicles. The customer benefits from having an interoperable network for both fast and slow charging without having to carry a bulky charger with them.
Mr. B V R Subrahmanyam, CEO, NITI Aayog said, “I am happy to note the development of a combined charging standard which is an absolute necessity if we are to achieve our EV targets. A strong need was felt for a combined charging system for Light EVs in India and since such an option has not been provided in the International Standards, it was necessary to develop it indigenously to give Light EV Customers the option of charging both from an AC or a DC outlet, whichever is available conveniently for them. Since more than 75% of new vehicles sold in India are either two or three-wheelers, we created a standard that impacts the biggest chunk of the vehicle market. Several government bodies and private sector OEMs came together to make this happen.”
He further added, “This is a unique global innovation that has been indigenously developed by BIS. It facilitates both AC (slow) and DC (fast) charging from the same service point/station and has enormous potential for adoption and proliferation of Electric Mobility. This is also a fine example of what we can achieve when good policy, innovation, and enterprise come together to guide the country in the right direction. We expect the new standard to be one of the most helpful factors in making India a global player in the clean mobility space.”
