Maharashtra to witness the spirit of sustainability, Diageo India expands its Be A #PlanetHero movement, removes mono cartons from much loved brands including McDowell’s & Signature
Telugu super news,Mumbai, 31st May 2023: Diageo India, the country’s leading beverage alcohol company announced the next leg of its phased removal of mono cartons from several of their spirit brands including McDowells & Signature. The Be A #PlanetHero movement will proactively engage consumers, reduce waste, and contribute to Diageo’s Society 2030: Spirit of Progress, a 10-year ESG action plan to help create a more inclusive and sustainable world, that includes an ambition to be zero-waste to landfill from its own operations.
The Be A #PlanetHero has been activated in several states across the country and will result in saving 10,000 tonnes of paper and reducing 7,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. The shift to a carton-less experience can be seen across beloved brands from Diageo India including Vat 69, Black Dog, Black & White and now further explaining into McDowell’s No 1, Signature and DSP Black. The intention of this campaign is to drive thoughtful initiatives: resulting in the company’s mindfulness with their ‘sustainable by design’ narrative. Diageo India aims to deliver high-quality products and has proactively introduced additional safety measures to address potential breakage and spilling concerns .

Earlier in the year 2022, Diageo globally announced the removal of mono cartons from its premium Scotch portfolio around the world including Johnnie Walker Black Label Blended Scotch Whisky, Johnnie Walker Red Label Blended Scotch Whisky, Buchanan’s Blended Scotch Whisky and Bell’s Original Blended Scotch Whisky.
