The Royal Academy of Engineering’s Leaders in Innovation Fellowships (LIF) programme focuses on nurturing bold, scalable innovations from all areas of engineering and technology that are addressing some of the world’s most complex environmental, economic, and societal challenges. They identify and work with in-country partners to deliver the program within their geographic location. CIE-IIIT Hyderabad is The Royal Academy of Engineering’s partner for India.
The standout Indian startups selected for this program are Nariksha Pads, Pola, Quavilon, ASHA+, Hydroverse, SmartKosh, Revalu, and Precue. Through the LIF programs, these startups will receive comprehensive support, including training, mentoring, and access to an international network. The aim is to equip them with the tools to commercialise their technologies and thrive in the competitive UK market.
Selected innovators will advance impactful solutions addressing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) globally. The LIF program offers tailored support, including training, mentoring, and access to a diverse network of experts and resources. Supported by the UK’s Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology, these programs drive sustainable development through locally engineered solutions, impacting communities worldwide.
Funded by the UK Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology’s International Science Partnership Fund, and facilitated by The Royal Academy of Engineering, these programs are pivotal in fostering global innovation with a local impact.

Telugu super news, April 4th,2024:Virgin Atlantic signals its continued commitment to India this week as its new daily service to Bengaluru touched down and the airline also announced a second daily flight to Mumbai taking to the skies in October 2024.
The new flight to Mumbai will be the airline’s fifth daily service to India and from 2025, Virgin Atlantic will offer over one million seats to the country, a 350% capacity growth since 2019, cementing India’s position as a key strategic market for the airline and marking its largest area of growth outside the United States.Alongsidecustomer flying, the increase is also a huge boost for cargo operations with additional capacity to support the movement of goods from the fashion, pharmaceuticals, and tech sectors. With five daily services, Virgin Atlantic Cargo will offer over 40 million kg of space to and from India, a 336% increase in capacity versus 2019.
To celebrate the new services, Virgin Atlantic CEO, Shai Weiss touched down in Bengaluru meeting with partners and customers while experiencing the bustling city for himself. Shai joined British Deputy High Commissioner, Chandru Iyer, in autorickshaws as they visited some of the iconic sites in the city, with the airline’s award-winning cabin crew handing out some of Virgin Atlantic’s signature onboard treats such as- ice lollies and Mile High afternoon tea.
The new services will operate on the airline’s state of the art aircraft, 787-9 Dreamliner offering customers the option of Upper Class, Premium, and Economy Delight, Classic and Light as well as the airline’s signature Upper Class social space. In total the partnership offers 36 additional destinations and has so far connected over 80,000 customers since the launch in September 2022.

(Star Health Insurance), India’s largest retail health insurance Company, to offer customers health insurance with a monthly and annual payment option. With this partnership, PhonePe users will now be able to avail of ‘Star Comprehensive Insurance Policy’ on the PhonePe app with coverage up to Rs.1 Crore. Having previously disrupted the market with its motor insurance products, with this launch, PhonePe further expands the options available to its users in the health insurance category.
Through this partnership, for the first time, Star Health Insurance’s Comprehensive Health Insurance will be offered to customers with a monthly premium payment plan, pioneered by PhonePe – a first-of-its-kind initiative in the industry. Users can also opt to pay their premium with the UPI AutoPay mandate and enjoy added convenience. This move was driven by a critical insight that smaller monthly payments ease the financial burden for users while empowering and enabling them to opt for more extensive insurance coverage without stretching their finances.
Star Comprehensive Insurance Policy is a power-packed insurance plan with benefits including the most popular OPD and maternity coverage. Market research conducted with PhonePe’s user base indicates that these two features were the most preferred by customers while buying health insurance. Star Comprehensive Health Insurance Policy is an end-to-end health insurance policy with sum insured available up to Rs.1 crore. The policy covers road ambulance and air ambulance expenses, out-patient medical consultation up to the limits, out-patient coverage for dental and Ophthalmic treatment, delivery expenses, organ donor expenses, provides coverage for newborn babies, including any congenital disorders, from day one of birth and vaccination expenses of the new born until the baby completes one year. Once they opt for the policy, the customer’s have to fill in their details, such as name, age, and gender, followed by the health history of all members to be insured. This will be followed by a regulator mandated Know Your Customer (KYC) form and declarations, once the payment is completed.

Telugu super news,National, March 28, 2024: PhonePe App users traveling to the UAE can now make payments using UPI at Mashreq’s NEOPAY terminals, available across a wide array of retail stores, dining outlets, as well as tourist and leisure attractions. They simply need to scan the QR code for seamless and rapid payments. These transactions are facilitated by the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). The account debit will occur in INR, showing the currency exchange rate.
Additionally, NRIs with UAE mobile numbers can also download the PhonePe App and link their existing NRE and NRO accounts to facilitate payments. This aims to enhance the ease and convenience of transactions for the Indian diaspora in the UAE.
This collaboration is facilitated through Mashreq’s partnership with NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL). Through this partnership, Mashreq has enabled NEOPAY terminals to accept UPI apps as a payment instrument, thus allowing Indian travelers to conveniently use UPI for transactions.

Additionally, the ‘Made in India’ Revolution Aspire CT, Revolution ACT and MR breast coils will be manufactured ‘In India for the World’.
India is among the top 20 global markets for medical devices in the world. Wipro GE Healthcare is among the first MedTech companies to ‘Make in India – for India and the world’ over past three decades, investing upwards of over $4Billion in R&D and manufacturing output in India since inception. Over the decades, the organization has fostered a strong local supplier ecosystem of MedTech component manufacturing – covering capabilities like plastics, EMS, machining, castings, 3D printing – contributing $1M supplier Labor hours. The investment will include creation of additional 400,000 labor hours.

Currently, the organization has four manufacturing plants in Bengaluru. All four manufacturing plants are export plants – the latest one established in March 2022 with an investment of a little over INR100 crore under the Indian government’s PLI Scheme.
GE HealthCare is among the first healthcare companies to start an R&D center in India over three decades back. The Healthcare Technology Center India (HTCI) is GE HealthCare’s largest R&D center outside of the USA, situated in John F. Welch Technology Centre (JFWTC), Bengaluru. The organization also has collaborations with leading academic institutions in the country to further research. In January 2024, GE HealthCare signed an MoU with Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to advance MedTech innovation from India – for India and the world.
