“Why speak the truth that destroys you, when a lie is right in front of you to set you free?”. This is the philosophy of Maya Ahuja from SonyLIV’s upcoming show Good Bad Girl. Ever since the trailer of the show was released, the audience has been waiting eagerly to unfold her character played by Samridhi Dewan. She has her ways of getting out of problems and that’s what makes her enthralling.

Set against the backdrop of Mumbai, Good Bad Girl revolves around Maya Ahuja, a lively, bubbly, and quirky girl who has three different stories to tell. The series reflects on how people, rules, cultures, societies, and laws impact the mind of a 7-year-old to turn her into a crafty and manipulative person by the time she is 28.

Along with Samridhi Dewan (Maya Ahuja), the show features Soham Majumdar as Dr. Punit, an oncologist. While he has loved his character, he would have not shied away from playing Maya if he was a girl. Soham said, “I am very happy with Dr. Punit but if in another universe I was a girl, I would have played Maya for sure. She is ambitious, driven, and has just so many layers, as all real people do. She is bold, she is a go-getter, and she is unafraid to make tough decisions to emerge as a winner in all situations.”

Adding to his character traits, he stated, “Dr. Punit is a very straightforward and sorted guy. The vibe of the character was jammed with the director. We improvised it in the process of filming the show.”

Created by Vikas Bahl and Chaitally Parmar, written by Tahira Nath and Nikhil Arora along with Chaitally Parmar, and directed by Abhishek Sengupta, it stars Samriddhi Dewan, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Gul Panag, Aradhya Aanjna, Sheeba Chadha, Namrata Seth, Rajendra Sethi, Soham Majumdar, and Zain Khan Durrani in pivotal roles.
