MG Motor India clocks 4648 units Retail Sales in March 2024

Telugu super news,National, April 1st, 2024: MG Motor today announced that it had registered retail sales of 4648 units in India, ending March 2024. In FY 2023-24, the carmaker registered around 14 percent Y-o-Y growth over the last FY 2022-2023. The moderation in automobile industry growth, particularly passenger vehicle (PV) sales, evidenced in March, on the back of a delayed festive season and various other factors, should see a gradual positive uptick in the months to come.

The company will expand its production capacity in Halol, Gujarat, with a focus on producing NEVs. This will significantly increase the production capacity from the current 1,00,000 plus to up to 3,00,000 vehicles annually.

JSW MG Motor India will focus on strengthening its research, development, and technical prowess by setting up an R&D centre to cater to the different choices of car buyers. The new R&D centre will develop connected, new-age and local mobility solutions, giving automobile customers better access to advanced technologies and futuristic products with attractive value propositions.

With Carbon Neutrality, Sustainability, and Green Mobility at the core of its vision, the joint venture will stay focused on accelerating faster adoption of EVs. By 2030, the company aims to take leadership position in the NEV category with an extensive product portfolio comprising New Energy Vehicles. The company is currently utilising over 60% of its energy requirements for its manufacturing operations at Halol (Gujarat) from renewable resources and is working towards becoming Carbon Neutral by 2029.

JSW MG Motor India’s new business roadmap will also focus on creating a considerable number of employment opportunities and developing a large talent pool in the country, a move that will benefit local communities. Kia India, one of the fastest growing carmakers in the country, organised a specially-curated customer experience, ‘The Carens Drive’, for its esteemed customers August 7, 2022 in Delhi-NCR. Supervised and certified by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), the drive witnessed 22 Carens customers competing on an 84 KMs drive to derive the best mileage from their cars. The drive was flagged off from Stellar Gymkhana in Greater Noida till Jewar.

The drive witnessed Carens in 4 categories – petrol and diesel powertrains mated with manual and automatic transmissions. Conducted under the stewardship of veteran auto analyst Tutu Dhawan, where he shared valuable tips with the participants. The Carens Drive concluded with the announcement of 4 winners and runners-up, each of whom claimed the best mileage from their variant. All the Kia Carens had at least 3 people on board and the highest mileage claimed was 29. 8 KMPL by Vipin Tyagi with his Diesel Manual Kia Carens. The average mileage achieved by all participants stood at 23.5 KMPL.

Kia India recorded domestic sales of 22,022 units in July 2022

Kia India, one of the fastest-growing carmakers in the country, records monthly domestic sales of 22,022 units in July 2022, registering a 46.66% Y-0-Y growth over the corresponding month last year. Kia Seltos and Sonet, with 8,451 and 7,215 units, respectively, led the sales momentum for the brand, followed by Carens with 5978 units and Carnival with 288 units. The brand continues to be among the 5 best-selling car brands in the country.

In the first 7 months of CY22, Kia India has dispatched 1,43,845 units in the domestic market. The Seltos and Sonet contributed the majority to KIN’s CY22 sales with 40% and 33% share, respectively, while the Carens, that was launched in the second half of February 2022 contributed over 25%.

Commenting on the performance, Hardeep Singh Brar, Vice President & Head of Sales and Marketing, Kia India said, “Gradual improvement in the supply chain and our customers’ continued love for the brand is adding momentum to Kia India’s growth. This year, we are outpacing the industry with cumulative growth of 28.4% over 2021, which is much higher than the industry growth of 16%. With the upcoming festive season, we shall strive to improve supplies to give faster deliveries to our customers. To ensure minimum wait time, we have been running our production facility in full capacity since February 2022 with utmost optimisation.”

As a part of its customer-centric approach, Kia India organised a nationwide ‘Ownership-Service Camp’ for Kia owners across its dealerships. Aimed at maintaining the health of Kia cars, the weeklong camp concluded on 27th July 2022, attracting over 30,000 customers.

Recently, the company zoomed past the 5 Lakh sales milestone in less than 3 years since its start of sales operations in the country. With the July 2022 sales, the total domestic sales figure of the brand stands at 5,11,219 units.
