Raunaq Yar Khan – the great grandson of His Highness Mir Mahboob Ali Khan Siddiqi, the Sixth Nizam of Hyderabad and an immediate descendant of the Royal House of Asaf Jah has been chosen as H.E.H. Nizam IX of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty, by the members of Majlis E Shabzadegan comprising of over 4500 Shahebzada and Sahebzadi (The Direct Descendent) & Umra (Nobles of Nizam).

Conveying details to the Media, Sahezada Mir Mujtaba Ali Khan President ,Vice President Sahebzada Mir Nizamuddin Ali Khan (Spokesperson), Shaebzada Mohd. Moizddin Khan General Secretary, Majlis– E–Shabzadegan Society from Majlis –E– Shabzadegan Society said“Shabzadegan are direct descendants of Nizam (I-VI), Majlis e Shabzadegan Society comprises around 4500 members, and we together had reached a consensus and along with the Umra have chosen “Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan”as His Exalted Highness IXth Nizam of Asaf Jahi Dynasty under Customary Succession, this consensus was formed after Prince Azmet Jah, the son of
H.E.H Mukarram Jah Bahadur 8th Nizam of Hyderabad who was coronated as head of his immediate family after the demise of his father late H.E.H.

Mukarram Jah Bahadur ( late Nawab Mir Barkat Ali Khan Bahadur). Azmet Jah’s continuous silence toward his responsibilities to the extended Royal family, his persistent and unspecified absence from Hyderabad and choice to remain incommunicado with the members of the ASAF JAHI DYNASTY Family members and his not taking over the responsibilities of Asaf Jahi

Dynasty prompted us to chose the best alternative amongst the Royal family.

A Notable Media House , Rahnuma -E – Deccan, headed by Syed Ahmed Khan,which was known for the past century as a part of Hyderabad’s Heritage and essentially H.E.H. The VII Nizam’s ‘Mouthpiece’ played a prominent role in reconciling the extended Royal family and in having emphasising the merit to
have a designated Nizam from the dynasty in Hyderabad in order to preserve the sophisticated culture and style oofthe Asaf Jahi Dynasty.

The Grand Coronation Ceremony will soon follow where the extended Royal family and the citizens of Hyderabad will be invited to witness a grand coronation ceremony. The Importance of choosing Nizam for the Asaf Jahi Dynasty in this era is to take over the responsibilities of Dynasty & represent its culturally rich heritage, legacy & customs to the world. Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan had been quite vocal about the heritage and has often represented heritage, Tehzeeb, legacy of Hyderabad, (the Asaf Jahi Dynasty).

Moreover, properties, articles, and many other belongings of the Nizams have been lying in state of neglect, across the world and there is not any proper designated individual to take up the responsibilities. H.E.H Mukarram Jah Bahadur left Hyderabad and stayed in Australia & Turkey and rarely visited
Hyderabad during his lifetime, during this duration many properties, articles, belonging of Nizams were stolen, grabbed & sold. After Mukarram Jah, his son Azmet Jah has also spent very little time in Hyderabad and demonstrated indifference toward responsibilities and workings of Asaf Jahi Dynasty outside his immediate family.

Adding up to the statement, Sahebzada Mohd Moizuddin Khan General Secretary, Majlis – E – Shabzadegan Society said “Prince Azmet Jah has so far neglected to take up the responsibilities of his family and clan, the same was also confirmed by the publication made on 25/01/2023 and by other reputed Media Houses. “The reason of choosing Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan is, he being connected to Hyderabad and he is one of the most recognized faces of the AsafJahi Dynasty in Hyderabad.

He has always been upfront in being part of many social events, events to create awareness, raise funds, and helping many citizens of the country in many ways”, Sahebzada Mohd Moizuddin Khan further added, “the Majlis E Sahebzadagan Society earlier requested in person via The Rahnuma-E-Deccan to Prince Azmet Jah to consider the request of the extended
Royal family to head them, but there was no promise of friendly co-operation from the Prince Azmet Jah nor his immediate family and subsequent repeated requests including of Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan were consistently shown expresse d indifference by Prince Azmet Jah.

The Order passed in O.P 147/1995 order dated: 21-06-1999 city Civil Court Hyderabad , confirms that any decisions taken should be taken with consensus from the legal heirs of 1st

Nizam to the 6th Nizam legal heirs and descendants including the settlor of Trusts himself.”

Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan has always been a visionary, also reputed to be meticulously ethical and has represented Hyderabad’s Asaf Jahi Tehzeeb (Culture) consistently. He is also one of the wealthiest Nawabs in Hyderabad and the extended Royal family looks forward to have an able face of its culture and example of the secular traditions of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty present in Hyderabad to represent them.

He was also approached by the Majlis E Sahebzadagan Society and others twice in the last three years but out of the
shear fact that H.E.H Mukarram Jah Bahadur was not consulted, he refused.However, again the extended Royal family having tried repeatedly through Syed Ahmed Khan who tried to reconcile Majlis-E-Sahebzadgan with an indifferent Prince Azmet Jah to accept his responsibilities and failing so, Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan now consented to take up the responsibilities of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty requested of him by the Majlis-E-Sahebzadgan.
