Besides the Kia Seltos, six airbags as standard fitment are also offered on the Kia Carens, making Kia India the only mass segment manufacturer offering this important safety feature as standard. The decision to provide six standard airbags on the Seltos emphasizes Kia’s commitment to offer the best products for its customers and is in line with the increased focus on safety.

Kia India recorded domestic sales of 22,022 units in July 2022

Kia India, one of the fastest-growing carmakers in the country, records monthly domestic sales of 22,022 units in July 2022, registering a 46.66% Y-0-Y growth over the corresponding month last year. Kia Seltos and Sonet, with 8,451 and 7,215 units, respectively, led the sales momentum for the brand, followed by Carens with 5978 units and Carnival with 288 units. The brand continues to be among the 5 best-selling car brands in the country.

In the first 7 months of CY22, Kia India has dispatched 1,43,845 units in the domestic market. The Seltos and Sonet contributed the majority to KIN’s CY22 sales with 40% and 33% share, respectively, while the Carens, that was launched in the second half of February 2022 contributed over 25%.

Commenting on the performance, Hardeep Singh Brar, Vice President & Head of Sales and Marketing, Kia India said, “Gradual improvement in the supply chain and our customers’ continued love for the brand is adding momentum to Kia India’s growth. This year, we are outpacing the industry with cumulative growth of 28.4% over 2021, which is much higher than the industry growth of 16%. With the upcoming festive season, we shall strive to improve supplies to give faster deliveries to our customers. To ensure minimum wait time, we have been running our production facility in full capacity since February 2022 with utmost optimisation.”

As a part of its customer-centric approach, Kia India organised a nationwide ‘Ownership-Service Camp’ for Kia owners across its dealerships. Aimed at maintaining the health of Kia cars, the weeklong camp concluded on 27th July 2022, attracting over 30,000 customers.

Recently, the company zoomed past the 5 Lakh sales milestone in less than 3 years since its start of sales operations in the country. With the July 2022 sales, the total domestic sales figure of the brand stands at 5,11,219 units.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited clocked total sales of 175,916 units in July 2022. Total sales in the month include domestic sales of 145,666 units, sales to other OEM of 9,939 units and exports of 20,311 units.

The shortage of electronic components had a minor impact on the production of vehicles, mainly in domestic models. The Company took all possible measures to minimise the impact.
