తెలుగు సూపర్ న్యూస్,హైదరాబాద్‌, మే 10, 2023: వెల్‌స్పన్‌ ఫౌండేషన్‌ (డబ్ల్యుఎఫ్‌) , రంగారెడ్డి జిల్లాలోని రైతుల కోసం బెటర్‌ కాటన్‌ ఇనీషియేటివ్‌ (బీసీఐ) ప్రాజెక్ట్‌ను 2019లో ప్రారంభించింది. ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని స్ధిరమైన వ్యవసాయ పద్ధతులను ప్రోత్సహించడంతో పాటుగా రంగారెడ్డి జిల్లాలో పత్తి రైతుల జీవనోపాధి మెరుగుపరచడం లక్ష్యంగా ప్రారంభించారు. డబ్ల్యుఎఫ్‌ ఈ కార్యక్రమం ద్వారా 91 గ్రామాలలోని 5033 మంది రైతులను చేరుకోవడంతో పాటుగా 121 లెర్నింగ్‌ గ్రూప్‌ (ఎల్‌జీ)లు ఏర్పాటుచేసింది. ప్రతి ఎల్‌జీలోనూ 40–45 మంది రైతులు ఉన్నారు. ఈ ప్రాజెక్ట్‌ ద్వారా మొత్తంమ్మీద 14214 ఎకరాల పత్తి పంటతో పాటుగా ఇతర పంటలతో కలిపి 29158 ఎకరాలను చేరుకున్నారు.

మట్టి నమూనాల విశ్లేషణ పరీక్ష ఆధారిత పోషకాల వినియోగంపై రైతులకు అవగాహన కల్పించేందుకు బీసీఐ ప్రాజెక్ట్‌ను రూపొందించారు. ప్రతి సంవత్సరం రైతుల నుంచి భూ నమూనాలు డబ్ల్యుఎఫ్‌ సేకరిస్తుంది. ఆ తరువాత సరైన మోతాదులో ఎరువులు వినియోగించడానికి సంబంధించిన సమాచారం అందించడం ద్వారా భూ సారం పెంచుతున్నారు. ఈ సంవత్సర కార్యక్రమంలో భాగంగా, మొత్తంమ్మీద 77 నమూనాలను సేకరించి వీటిని రాజేంద్రనగర్‌ ప్రభుత్వ సాయిల్‌ టెస్టింగ్‌ ల్యాబ్‌ కు విశ్లేషణ కోసం పంపారు.

ఈ మట్టి నమూనాల పరీక్షల కార్యక్రమంలో అత్యంత కీలకమైన అంశం ఏమిటంటే దీనిని ముఖాముఖి కార్యక్రమంగా చేయడం. డబ్ల్యుఎఫ్‌కు చెందిన క్షేత్ర స్ధాయి సిబ్బంది పొలాలకు, రైతులతో సహా వెళ్లడంతో పాటుగా మట్టి నమూనా సేకరిస్తారు. ఈ మట్టి పరీక్షలతో పాటుగా డబ్ల్యుఎఫ్‌ ఇప్పుడు రైతులతో సమావేశాలు, శిక్షణ కార్యక్రమాలను సైతం నిర్వహిస్తుంది. ఈ సంవత్సర కార్యక్రమాలలో భాగంగా 77 మట్టి నమూనాలను 38 గ్రామాల నుంచి సేకరించారు. అత్యధికంగా నమూనాలను చేవెళ్ల తాలూకా నుంచి సేకరించారు. మొత్తం 24 గ్రామాల నుంచి 50 నమూనాలు వీటిలో ఉన్నాయి. ఈ భూసార పరీక్షల వల్ల రైతులు సరైన రీతిలో ఎరువులు వాడటంతో పాటుగా భూసారాన్నీ మెరుగుపరుచుకోగలిగారు.

వెల్‌స్పన్‌ అధికార ప్రతినిధి మాట్లాడుతూ ‘‘ పర్యావరణ అనుకూల, సమ్మిళిత అభివృద్ధికి మేము కట్టుబడి ఉన్నాము. స్థిరమైన వ్యవసాయ పద్ధతులను రైతులు స్వీకరించే నైపుణ్యం, విజ్ఞానాన్ని అందించే దిశగా ప్రారంభించిన కార్యక్రమం రంగారెడ్డి జిల్లాలోని మా బెటర్‌ కాటన్‌ ఇనీషియేటివ్‌ ప్రాజెక్ట్‌ . ఈ ప్రాంతంలో పత్తి పంట రైతుల జీవనోపాధి అవకాశాలను మెరుగుపరచడంలో తోడ్పాటునందించినందుకు చాలా సంతోషంగా ఉంది’’అని అన్నారు.

రంగారెడ్డి జిల్లాలోని రైతులు స్థిరమైన, లాభదాయక వ్యవసాయ పద్ధతులను స్వీకరించడంలో బీసీఐ ప్రాజెక్ట్‌ సహాయపడుతుంది. ఈ కార్యక్రమం, ఈ ప్రాంతంలో పత్తి రైతుల జీవనోపాధి మెరుగుపరచడానికి తోడ్పడుతుంది. నాణ్యమైన పత్తి ఆవశ్యకతతో పాటుగా భూసార పరీక్షలను చేయించాల్సిన అవసరం పట్ల రైతులకు అవగాహన కల్పించడానికి డబ్ల్యుఎఫ్‌ కృషి చేస్తుంది. ఈ బెటర్‌ కాటన్‌ ఇనీషియేటివ్‌ (బీసీఐ) ఈ ప్రయత్నాలలో అంతర్భాగం. ఈ ప్రాజెక్ట్‌ను స్థిరమైన వ్యవసాయ పద్ధతులను ప్రోత్సహించడం, రంగారెడ్డి జిల్లాలో పత్తి రైతుల జీవనోపాధి మెరుగుపరచడం లక్ష్యంగా చేసుకున్నారు. ఈ బీసీఐ ప్రాజెక్ట్‌ , రైతులకు చక్కటి వ్యవసాయ పద్ధతులు (జీఏపీ) వంటి విత్తనాల ఎంపిక, పంటమార్పిడి, ఐపీఎం, ఐఎన్‌ఎం, పెస్ట్‌ మేనేజ్‌మెంట్‌ , ఇతర వ్యవసాయ ప్రక్రియలు గురించి వెల్లడిస్తుంది

ఈ ప్రాంతంలోని రైతులు ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని చక్కగా ఆదరించారు. ‘‘మా గ్రామంలో బీసీఐ ప్రాజెక్ట్‌ను డబ్ల్యుఎఫ్‌ పరిచయం చేయడం సంతోషంగా ఉంది. స్ధిరమైన వ్యవసాయ పద్ధతుల పట్ల మేమెంతగానో నేర్చుకున్నాము. తద్వారా మా పంట నాణ్యత కూడా మెరుగుపడింది. ఎరువులు ఏ మేరకు వేయాలన్నది తెలపడంలో భూసార పరీక్షలు తోడ్పడ్డాయి’’ అని రంగారెడ్డి జిల్లా నుంచి ఒక రైతు అన్నారు.

FMC introduces drone spray services

Telugu Super News,India, Feruary 17,2023: FMC Corporation, an agricultural sciences company, today announced that it has launched drone spray services for farmers in India.

Approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the government body responsible for the regulation of air transport services in India, the drone service is expected to improve farm productivity while reducing the need for manual labour. FMC’s drone spray service can be accessed through the FMC India farmer app, which supports seven regional Indian languages. The service is currently available in Andhra Pradesh and will be available in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra by month-end.

Mr. Ravi Annavarapu, President, FMC India said, “As technology continues to evolve in the agriculture sector, drones are expected to constitute 2 per cent of the total agricultural machinery spend in the country by the end of year 2030. In this pilot phase, FMC will leverage our deep global knowledge and expertise in drone application for the benefit of the Indian farming community. We plan to maximize our reach among Indian farmers in the selected states during the first three months, and thereafter extend the services to farmers across the country before the next Kharif season commences.”

Agricultural unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) allows more control over spray uniformity and coverage, as well as improves the precision with which crop protection products like FMC’s premium and farmer-trusted brands Coragen® insecticide and Benevia® insecticide are applied. Each spray drone is capable of treating 3-4 acres in 15-20 minutes, making the spraying job easier and faster. Using UAVs will also protect farmers from environmental risks like heat stroke.

Mr. Annavarapu added, “Our efforts have always been directed toward providing innovative solutions to farmers so they can increase yields in a sustainable manner. We will provide access to drone technology, training, and financing to promote rural entrepreneurship. Additionally, government focus on modernizing agriculture with technology, while developing requisite skills like drone operations, will ensure widespread uptake of precision agriculture. Indian agriculture is on the cusp of change, and we believe drone services will play a crucial part in transforming agricultural practices. We take pride in being one of the pioneers of this service to the Indian farming community.”

GARNIER OPENS ITS FIRST PLASTIC WASTE COLLECTION CENTER IN CHENNAI

Garnier, one of the world’s largest mass-market beauty brands, strengthens its commitment to protecting the environment with the funding of a dedicated plastic waste collection center in Chennai, India, in partnership with Plastics for Change, a social enterprise launched with a mission to use plastic waste as a resource for addressing social issues. With the aim of collecting 2,000 tons of ocean-bound plastic [1]. In its first year, this center will empower the lives of 2000 people from the local communities. The plastic collected has been integrated into the packaging of Garnier’s iconic haircare Ultra Doux range, in European markets.  For the first time, Ultra Doux bottles are made with 100% recycled plastic [2], of which 30% will be ocean-bound plastic

To make collection services accessible to all, Garnier will set up plastic collection kiosks across 20 prominent locations in Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi, encouraging consumers to take their #OneGreenStep. Garnier has also partnered with eCommerce partners Amazon and Myntra, as part of which Garnier will recycle two plastic bottles, through Plastics for Change, for every Garnier product bought on these platforms.

Since 2020, Garnier has helped collect the equivalent of 539+ tons of plastic and support more than 3,200 beneficiaries.

Dr. Reddy’s Foundation, International Crop Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) and ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (CRIDA) are jointly organizing a consultation of global and local experts on “Regenerative Agriculture for Sustainable Ecosystem and Economy” on 20th September 2022 at ICRISAT, Hyderabad, from 9.00 am onwards.
